When it comes to laser hair removal the process is still fairly an unusual concept. Many of my patients arrive for their treatment expecting to see the hair being pulled out by the laser, however this will never happen. So many people are worried and wonder will their hair grow back after laser hair removal? Yes, there will be hair growth after each treatment, but it’s not the same hair that was treated.
How laser hair removal works?
Laser works by emitting a concentrated beam of light. This light is attracted by the pigment in your hair, where it turns into heat and destroys your hair follicles. However for your treatment to work like this, your hair follicles have to reach a specific stage of their growth.
How should you manage your hair in-between treatments?
We would ask you to refrain from waxing, threading, epilating or anything that may remove your hair from the roots. In order for you to get the most out of your laser sessions we need the roots available so we can destroy them with our laser. Our aim is to ensure no more hairs will grow from those follicles treated. You can shave or trim only between your sessions.
Will hair grow back after laser hair removal?
Not only you will notice you have to shave less, the growth time of new hair will take longer than before. Eventually you go from shaving daily to shaving weekly, then less and less. Eventually you may find that there is no hair growth for months or even years on certain areas. After each session you’d expect you hair is taken longer to regrow. When it does it much lighter in texture. So you would find shaving a lot easier and with much less irritation. And last but not least your ingrowing hair are disappearing and your skin is less irritate.
